Deputy Director of Mission Support for the National Reconnaissance Office Robert Zitz briefed the Intelligence and National Security Alliance last month on the timely issues of Multi-INT and information-sharing between intelligence agencies.
Speaking before INSAâs Innovative Technology Council, Zitz emphasized access to communications, collaboration and support for intelligence-gatherers to better produce real-time integrated intelligence.
NRO, one of 16 U.S. intelligence agencies, is in charge of designing and operating U.S. reconnaissance satellites for use in intelligence-gathering operations.
Zitz also mentioned other ways to promote information-sharing, including expanded outreach to private-sector industry, as well as overall changes to security policy and culture through selective declassification.
During a question-and-answer session, he praised the governmentâs outreach to INSA and other organizations. He said it helped to facilitate a dialogue on important Intelligence Community issues.
Zitz has been involved with the Intelligence Community for more than 30 years. Prior to joining NRO, he had experience with the CIA, the U.S. Army, the Department of Homeland Security and the Secret Service.
INSA’s next guest speaker in its series will feature Undersecretary for Intelligence and Analysis for the DHS Caryn Wagner.
