Defense Secretary and a 2019 Wash100 Award winner Mark Esper said he has no “hard timeline†to complete his assessment of the Pentagon’s potential 10-year, $10B Joint Enterprise Defense Infrastructure cloud computing contract, Bloomberg reported Friday.
“I want to make sure I get to the point where I’m comfortable enough to know it,†he said of the JEDI program.
He said he is reviewing the Department of Defense’s handling of the cloud acquisition process and whether JEDI is the right strategy. In August, DoD’s inspector general formed a team of auditors to review the JEDI contract. Microsoft and Amazon are the final two contenders for the single-award cloud contract.
