Naval Supply Systems Command and Army Contracting Command have agreed to enhance NAVSUP’s multiple-award, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract that provides support services to expeditionary forces deployed in austere locations, DVIDS reported Monday.

Under the partnership, ACC and NAVSUP will expand the Worldwide Expeditionary Multiple Award Contract, or WEXMAC, by strengthening the performance work statement, adding places of performance within the U.S. and outlying territories and establishing a WEXMAC Joint Acquisition Team.

“A WEXMAC Joint Acquisition Team approach will support mutual contractor capability-building by establishing a shared vendor pool and processes,” said Mark Bennington, assistant commander for contracting at NAVSUP.

Established in 2021, the WEXMAC procurement vehicle provides agile contracting support to help naval expeditionary forces carry out missions in austere and remote locations worldwide.

NAVSUP will host industry days in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, on March 27 and 28 to discuss with industry partners the acquisition plan for the follow-on WEXMAC contract.

The Defense Information Systems Agency has released a sources sought notice for cross domain enterprise service with engineering and program management support requirements of Department of Defense customers.

According to the notice posted on SAM.gov, DISA is seeking information from small businesses about their availability and technical capability to provide DOD clients with enterprise, enterprise-hosted and mission-specific cross domain products and/or services in support of their mission requirements.

Interested parties are asked to detail their experience in handling and maintaining all security and accreditation material; assisting information system security officers in vulnerability tracking, system risk management analysis and information security strategy development; helping mission partners comply with DOD requirements and standards; supporting a production environment for process and technology monitoring and reporting; and utilizing cross domain products and/or enterprise services to drive the government’s cybersecurity initiative.

The agency anticipates the contract’s period of performance to start Sept. 16, 2024, and end Sept. 15, 2029, if all options are exercised.

Responses to the request for information are due March 9.

ASRC Federal and Leidos are the incumbent contractors for the requirement. The former’s work will run through Sept. 15, 2024, while the latter’s extends to Sept. 30, 2025.

The Biden administration is investing a minimum of $5 billion in the National Semiconductor Technology Center as part of its 2024 roadmap to bolster domestic chips research and development.

The White House hosted government officials and industry and academic experts to discuss its plan for NSTC, including creating a workforce center for excellence and free pre-membership community of interest, the Department of Commerce announced Friday.

NSTC is a public-private consortium founded by Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo, Defense Secretary and Wash100 awardee Lloyd Austin and Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm, along with National Science Foundation Director Sethuraman Panchanathan and National Center for the Advancement of Semiconductor Technology CEO Deirdre Hanford.

The latest investment will fund projects surrounding the design, prototyping and piloting of capabilities critical to semiconductor technologies. Part of the funding will be allocated to training and education programs and campaigns to develop skilled workforce in the chips industry.

The administration will also launch the NSTC Community of Interest where stakeholders can share their ideas on the center’s offerings and operational structure.
