U.S. Navy Admiral Michael Rogers serves as commander of U.S. Cyber Command, director of the National Security Agency and chief of the Central Security Service.

Prior to these roles, he served as commander of both the U.S. Fleet Cyber Command and the U.S. Tenth Fleet, with responsibility for all of the Navy’s cyberwarfare efforts.

During the 2003 U.S. invasion of Iraq, Rogers joined the military’s Joint Staff, which works for the Joints Chief of Staff, where he specialized in computer network attacks.

Originally a Surface Warrior Officer, he was selected for re-designation to cryptology (now Information Warfare) in 1986. He has led cryptologic direct support missions aboard U.S. submarines and surface units in the Arabian Gulf and Mediterranean.

Rogers is a distinguished graduate of the National War College and a graduate of highest distinction from the U.S. Naval War College.

A native of Chicago, he received his commission through the Naval Reserve Officers Training Corps (NROTC) program and has served in the U.S. Navy since graduating from Auburn University in 1981.

Adm. Jonathan W. Greenert is the chief of naval operations, having assumed the post Sept. 23.

Greenert is the senior military officer in the Department of the Navy. He is responsible to the Secretary of the Navy for the command, utilization of resources, and operating efficiency of the operating forces of the Navy and of the Navy shore activities assigned by the secretary.

Greenert is a member of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and is the principal naval adviser to the president and to the secretary on the conduct of war. He is also the principal adviser and naval executive to the secretary on the conduct of activities of the Department of the Navy.

Prior to becoming CNO, Greenert was vice chief of naval operations from August 2009-August 2011.

Greenert’s career as a submariner includes assignments on the USS Flying Fish, USS Tautog, Submarine NR-1 and USS Michigan. He served in command of the USS Honolulu from March 1991-July 1993.

Later, Greenert served in various fleet command assignments, including command of Submarine Squadron 11, U.S. Naval Forces Marinas, U.S. 7th Fleet and U.S. Fleet Forces Command.

Greenert has received six Distinguished Service Medal awards, four Defense Superior Service Medal awards and four Legion of Merit awards. In 1992 he was awarded the Vice Admiral Stockdale Award for inspirational leadership.

Greenert is a native of Butler, Pa. He graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy in 1975 and completed studies in nuclear power for service as a submarine officer.

Kathleen Ferguson serves as acting secretary of the U.S. Air Force for installations, environment and logistics at the Pentagon.

Ferguson is responsible for policy, programs and budgets for installations, energy, environment, safety and occupational health and weapon system logistics support.

Appointed into her role in March 2013, she most recently served as the principal deputy assistant secretary of the Air Force for installations, environment and logistics at the Office of the Assistant Secretary of the Air Force for installations, environment and logistics.

A graduate of the University of New Hampshire with a bachelor of science degree in civil engineering, she started her career in 1981 as a design engineer for the 380th civil engineering squadron at the Plattsburgh Air Force Base in New York.

From 1997 to 1999, she was chief of programs and resources division of the civil engineer director of the Air Force’s operations in Europe at the Ramstein Air Base, Germany.

Ferguson has served as the deputy assistant secretary of the Air Force for installations at the Office of the Assistant Secretary of the Air Force for Installations, Environment and Logistics and chief of the combat support division at the directorate of supply of the Office of the Deputy Chief of Staff for Installations and Logistics of the Air Force.

Ferguson has received the 2005 Meritorious Executive Presidential Rank Award and the 2010 Distinguished Executive Presidential Rank Award.

She also has a master’s degree in public administration from Auburn University and attended the program for senior managers in government from Harvard University’s John F. Kennedy School of Government.

Dan Tangherlini was sworn into office as administrator of the General Services Administration, July 5, 2013 and manages all of the agency’s daily operations, programs and policies.

Prior to that, he served as the agency’s acting administrator for 15 months following the departure of Martha Johnson.

From 2006 to 2009, Tangherlini served as city administrator and deputy mayor for the District of Columbia and oversaw daily operations, budget development and performance management.

He also led the District of Columbia Department of Transportation from June 2000 to February 2006.

Tangherlini came to GSA from the Treasury, where he had served as chief financial officer, chief performance officer and assistant secretary for management since 2009.

His time at the Treasury also includes service as director of the Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization.

Tangherlini’s career also includes service as interim general manager of the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority and chief financial officer for the Metropolitan Police Department.

He earned both his bachelor’s and master’s degree in public policy studies from the University of Chicago, as well as an M.B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania’s The Wharton School.

U.S. Navy Capt. Michael Weiner serves as the director of the electronic health record way ahead planning office for the Military Health System, where he oversees development of the Defense Department‘s EHR system.

The office was established to help transition the military health system into an interoperable and agile infrastructure for 9.6 million beneficiaries.

His previous roles include deputy program manager and chief medical officer for the Defense Health Information Management System, director of IT governance and enterprise architecture for the chief information officer of Navy medicine at the Bureau of Medicine and Surgery, and director of the information technology plans and policy.

Weiner was part of a Navy team that integrated voice recognition into the Navy Theater electronic medical record, digitized healthcare records for worldwide contingency operations and worked to create and deploy “blow out injury” kits for service members who need immediate care during deployment.

In his role as a plank owner of the Navy Expeditionary Combat Command, he served as a senior medical officer to more than 200 medical department that support 40,000 sailors worldwide.

Weiner is an active member of the American Telemedicine Association, American College of Physicians, American Osteopathic Association.

He is the military representative to the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine Alumni Board and Health and the Pentagon’s representative for Human Services’ Office of National Coordinator, Health Information IT Policy Committee.

A graduate of the Philadelphia College of Osteophatic Medicine and the U.S. Naval Academy, Weiner has received numerous awards from the Navy, including two Meritorious Service Medals, an Air Medal, an Air Medal Single Strike Award, Navy Commendation Medals and a Navy Achievement Medal.

Elena Broitman serves as acting deputy assistant secretary for manufacturing and industrial base policy at the Defense Department, where she is responsible for issues related to the defense industrial base.

Before joining the Pentagon, Broitman spent a decade on the Senate and her time there included service as senior advisor to Senator Kirsten Gillibrand.

Notably, Broitman wrote and managed cybersecurity provisions  that were included in the National Defense Authorization Act.

Her federal career was also spent serving as counsel to the House International Relations Committee, senior rule of law advisor to USAID’s Europe and newly independent states operations.

Broitman also spent nine years in the private industry before she joined the federal sector, focused on intellectual property and international policy matters at companies such as Pfizer and Register.com.

During her time at Register.com, she testified before the House Commerce and Judiciary Committees regarding intellectual property and Internet policy.

Rear Adm. Matthew Klunder serves as chief of naval research and director of innovation, technology requirements and test and evaluation since.

He previously served as a Naval Air Force commander, U.S. Pacific Fleet evaluator at VAW-110, a Naval Air Training and Operating Procedures Standardization officer, OPNAV N2/N6F2 director of intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance capabilities division.

Since earning his wings of gold at Meridian, Miss., in September 1984, Klunder has completed flying tours in California, Maryland and Japan.

Klunder is the recipient of the  1988 Hawkeye of the Year award, the 1991 Test Pilot of the Year award, the 2002 George C. Marshall Statesman award, four Legion of Merit, two Defense Meritorious Service Medal, two meritorious service medals, two Joint Commendation medal, four Navy and Marine Corps commendation medals and other unit and campaign awards.

A 1982 graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy, Klunder has a master’s degree in aerodynamics and aviation systems from the University of Tennessee and a master’s degree in strategic studies from the National War College.

Roberta Stempfley serves as acting assistant secretary for the Department of Homeland Security’s Office of Cybersecurity and Communications, where she is responsible for directing CS&C and its five divisions.

Stempfley was most recently the CS&C’s deputy assistant secretary and national cybersecurity division’s director.

She previously served as chief information officer for the Defense Information Systems Agency where she led decision making, strategy development and communication, program execution alignment with other services, operation of the global information grid, information assurance and management of information technology resources.

Stempfley is the recipient of various government service awards such as Information Week Top 50 Government CIOs, 2002 DISA Technical Team of the Year for DOD-CERT, Director’s Special Act award for service during Quadrennial Defense Review and Federal Computer Week’s 2013 Federal 100.

She holds a bachelor’s degree in engineering mathematics from the University of Arizona and a master’s degree in computer science from James Madison University, as well as a National Security Management Certification on Acquisition for Senior Leaders.

Rendell Jones serves as associate director for the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services Management Directorate where he oversees management and infrastructure services for USCIS’ operations.

In his role, Jones is responsible for the offices of the chief financial officer, information technology, human capital and training, contracting, administration, intake and document production, equal opportunity and inclusion and security.

He most recently served as chief financial officer at USCIS.

Jones first joined the federal government in 1996 and held budgeting roles as a presidential management intern at the Justice Department before becoming an appropriations liaison officer at the justice management division and spending a year with the civil rights division.

He previously worked to help the Department of Homeland Security formulate and execute plans for DHS’ $42 billion annual budget as deputy budget director.

Jones also served as DHS’ lead executive on appropriations issues and principal liaison with the appropriations committees of the Senate and House of Representatives.

He earned a bachelor’s degree in finance, cum laude, from the Virginia Commonwealth University and a master of public administration from North Carolina State University.

Jones has received the Presidential Rank Award for Meritorious Executive and the DHS’ Secretary’s Silver Medal, the department’s second highest honors.

David DeVries serves as the Defense Department’s deputy chief information officer for information, integration and technology where he works to consolidate department rules in order to build information assets for DoD personnel, organizations and partners.

DeVries currently works with various groups to develop a joint DoD-Veterans Affairs electronic health record system and complete the DoD information technology enterprise for additional warfighter capabilities and cybersecurity infrastructures.

The IT, information management and command and control systems veteran previously helped the U.S. military establish its enterprise information sharing and IT technologies.

A 29-year U.S. Army officer, DeVries held various lead roles in command and control communications and information management and technology during his military career.

DeVries earned a bachelor’s degree from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point and a master’s degree in electrical engineering from the University of Washington in Seattle, Washington.

The Army Senior Service College graduate also served as a corporate fellow with IBM Business Consulting Services and joined the Secretary of Defense Corporate Fellowship Program.
