The U.S. Senate has confirmed Gen. John Raymond, commander of Air Force Space Command, to lead the new, larger U.S. Space Command, The Hill reported Thursday. He will concurrently lead the Air Foce and national space commands as a dual-role official. U.S. Space Command will support the military's efforts to boost space security.
Raymond said he'd prioritize the transition of space command and control assets that support the country's joint force everyday. President Trump nominated Raymond for the new post in March.
