Linda McMahon, a former Senate candidate in Connecticut, has been nominated by president-elect Donald Trump as head of the Small Business Administration, the Wall Street Journal reported Wednesday.Peter Nicholas writes the nomination of McMahon, co-founder of World Wrestling Entertainment, follows a private meeting with Trump in the past week.
“Linda has a tremendous background and is widely recognized as one of the country’s top female executives advising businesses around the globe,” Trump said in a statement.
“Linda is going to be a phenomenal leader and champion for small businesses and unleash America’s entrepreneurial spirit all across the country.”
Reuters writes in a report published Wednesday that McMahon will potentially be part of Trump’s economic team that includes Wall Street executives Steven Mnuchin and Wilbur Ross.
McMahon’s nomination will go through the Senate confirmation process, the report said.
