The U.S. Army Aeromedical Research Laboratory has concluded flight and environmental testing of Vita Inclinata’s anti-rotational rescue device to aid medical evacuations.
The test’s finalization advances the Vita Rescue System – Litter Attachment closer to airworthiness certification, the company said Tuesday.
VRS-LA was developed by Vita’s aerospace division to improve the safety and effectiveness of MEDEVAC hoist missions. The trials involved placing the device in extreme environments and rigorous flight demonstrations. AARL used a rescue system manufactured by Skedco and the Stokes litter to assess the durability of VRS-LA.
Next steps will find the service branch proceeding with user evaluation of the product and deploying it to soldiers in the field.
