The amendment applies to an RFP through which the bureau intends to award two to four firm-fixed-price indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contracts for AI compute hardware and related services.

What Are the Details of the AI Hardware RFP?

The underlying RFP covers a broad range of enterprise AI infrastructure components, including enterprise AI compute servers, rack-scale and pod-scale AI systems, AI inference servers and expansion hardware and high-speed networking equipment such as network interface cards and data processing units. The scope also extends to associated original equipment manufacturer software, licensing, and OEM warranty and technical-support coverage.

The FBI plans to make approximately two to four firm-fixed-price IDIQ awards, though the solicitation reserves the government’s right to adjust that number, up to and including a single award, depending on the proposals it receives and its best-value determination. Awards may be structured by product category, and the bureau is not obligated to make an award in every category.

The total ceiling value across all contracts issued under the solicitation is capped at $88 million, with a minimum guarantee of $2,000 per awarded IDIQ contract.

Proposals are due on August 25, 2026.

What Did the FBI Amend in the Solicitation?

Under the amendment, the FBI is providing formal answers to questions submitted by prospective offerors and has updated the solicitation package to reflect corresponding changes. The bureau is instructing offerors to review the government’s responses and the full set of revised documents, noting that the updates could affect how proposals are prepared and submitted. All other terms and conditions of the original solicitation remain in effect unless specifically addressed in the amendment and offerors must acknowledge receipt of the amendment as directed in the solicitation instructions.
