Profile: Ken Brennan, Defense Department Deputy Director for Services Acquisition


brennan_kenneth_smallKen Brennan serves as the Defense Department’s deputy director for services acquisition within the office of procurement and acquisition policy, with responsibility in acquisition-related technical and programmatic evaluation efforts.

Brennan is also responsible for the governance structures and procedures the military departments and defense agencies use to implement services acquisition.

He previously managed the Department of Navy’s services acquisition between 2006 and April 2013.

Brennan started his federal career as a mechanical engineer on the Trident Test and Measurement Equipment project at the Naval Surface Warfare Center before he led the Crane Division’s Metrology and Calibration project.

He also completed a number of developmental assignments at the Naval Sea Systems Command headquarters.

Brennan holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology and a master of public affairs degree at Indiana University.
