The Association of the U.S. Army has dedicated its fourth Innovators Corner session to 25 companies selected to present their proposals for addressing the service’s modernization priorities.The U.S. Army said Monday the shortlisted firms participating in the Expeditionary Technology Search competition will use the three-day event to showcase their ideas for the service’s six modernization priorities, namely, long-range precision fires, next-generation combat vehicle, future vertical lift, network, air and missile defense, and increased soldier lethality.
Bruce Jette, assistant secretary of the Army for acquisition, logistics and technology, said AUSA’s Innovators Corner allows small and non-traditional businesses and non-standard defense contractors to present their proposals.
On Wednesday, the Army will select 12 out of the 25 xTechSearch semi-finalists to proceed to the next phase of competition, which will involve developing and demonstrating their concepts.
The 25 semi-finalists have been culled from a pool of 300 businesses since June.
The finalists will each receive $125K for the last phase of xTechSearch to undergo development and proof of concept, with one finalist winning a maximum of $250K.
