The American Council for Technology and Industry Advisory Council released a report on its Data-Driven Decision Making initiative aimed at helping agencies comply with the Federal Data Strategy and 2018 Foundations for Evidence-Based Policymaking Act.

ACT-IAC said Wednesday the “Advancing Data-Driven Decision Making in the Public Sector” report includes a self-assessment tool, digital maturity model and other recommendations in line with feedback from 13 federal agencies.

Margie Graves, the federal deputy chief information officer, said it’s crucial that agencies strategically manage data used to support artificial intelligence, data analytics and robotic process automation efforts.

“Projects and programs focused on data management and appropriate use will help the government achieve its strategic goals, enhance services to citizens, and improve government operations,” she said.

ACT-IAC will discuss issues related to the  Data-Driven Decision Making project during the Imagine Nation ELC 2019 conference in Philadelphia from Oct. 20 to 23. The organization also plans to hold a forum on Nov. 22 and launch a follow-on effort to help drive evidence-based policymaking in the government.
