DOE Awards $80M to Energy Infrastructure Resiliency Projects

The Department of Energy has awarded $80M in total funds to multiple public-private teams led by national laboratories to develop systems and tools to boost the resiliency of U.S. energy infrastructure.

Pentagon Memo Seeks Automated Access to Defense Contractor Financial Systems

DOE said Wednesday at least two of the department’s five applied science offices will sponsor each project selected through the 2019 Grid Modernization Lab Call that covers resilience modeling; energy storage and system flexibility; sensors and data analytics; institutional support and analysis; cybersecurity and physical security and generation.

The projects are part of the Grid Modernization Initiative and aim to demonstrate resulting platforms within a period of 18 months to two years. DOE and its national labs work to combine experts, resources and technologies through the Grid Modernization Laboratory Consortium.
