Senior military leaders from four defense organizations have discussed potential challenges on future operations at an industry partners meeting in Missouri, DoD News reported Wednesday.Terri Moon Cronk writes U.S. Air Force Gen. Carlton Everhart, Air Mobility Command chief, said defense leaders rely on industry partners to deliver new capacity and help modernize the command to meet the country’s security needs.
Everhart also noted the challenges of his command include a national pilot shortage and and evolving global threat environment which U.S. Army Maj. Gen. Kurt Ryan, commander of the Military Surface Deployment and Distribution Command, said is volatile.
Air Force Lt. Gen. Andrew Busch, DLA director, added that he wants the agency to collaborate with industry partners on potential challenges that DLA might face in the next 30 years and discuss strategies on cyber resilience against trans-regional threats and future basing to develop concepts.
U.S. Navy Rear Adm. Dee Mewbourne, Military Sealift Command commander, noted that some of the challenges his command has faced include how to retain “relevancy” and continue to adapt with the world today as needed.
