The Senate confirmed Vice Adm. Robert Burke and Adm. Bill Moran as vice chief and chief of naval operations at the U.S. Navy respectively, USNI News reported Friday. Moran will succeed Adm. John Richardson as chief of naval operations while Burke is slated to be elevated as admiral after he assumes the vice chief role.
“I am deeply humbled and honored to be given the opportunity to continue to serve as our Navy’s next Chief of Naval Operations,†said Moran.
Moran served various tours of duty during his tenure as a P3-Orion pilot aboard the USS Forestall aircraft carrier and worked under the staff of the Chief of Naval Personnel and U.S. Indo-Pacific Command. Burke served aboard the USS Maryland, USS Von Steuben and USS Bremerton and led the USS Hampton vessel as its commander.

The Federal Communications Commission has appointed Andy Hendrickson as the chief of its Office of Engineering and Technology. Hendrickson is transitioning from his former post of chief technology officer at the FCC’s Enforcement Bureau, the commission said Thursday.
