The U.S. General Services Administration’s (GSA) IT and acquisition experts, within the administration’s Information Technology Category, have developed the IT Acquisition University (ITAU), an online training solution for professionals within government IT acquisition, the GSA reported on Thursday.
“New innovations and emerging technology are introduced and deployed rapidly, and it can be difficult for IT acquisition professionals to keep pace with the latest innovations, maintain various certifications and CLP requirements, while also focusing on day-to-day work,” said GSA’s Information Technology Category, acting assistant commissioner, Laura Stanton.
GSA’s ITAU will provide access to a variety of content, such as cloud migration and GSA contracts. The on-demand training platform will enable federal IT project managers and acquisition professionals to learn more about innovation and emerging technology, and how it will impact modernization and acquisition projects.
ITAU will be hosted on GSA’s Acquisition Gateway, and offer training on cybersecurity, cloud migration and federal IT modernization. ITAU will also provide Continuous Learning Points (CLP) to maintain various professional certifications. In the future, ITAU will offer live webinars from GSA’s experts in IT and acquisition.
“The federal IT market is evolving at unprecedented speed… We hope the wider federal acquisition community will take advantage of this new and exciting tool,” added Stanton.
