Health and information technology expert Julie Boughn has been appointed to the health advisory board of healthcare technology company CNSI.
Boughn will be added to the current seven-person roster of council members, who lend insight regarding industry trends and policy endeavors and suggest various methods for CNSI’s public sector clients to mitigate health impacts and cost, the company said Monday.
“[Boughn’s] expertise in operations, data analysis, and enterprise systems modernization will be invaluable in advancing CNSI’s growth strategy to not only meet but also anticipate the needs of our clients in this era of rapid change in the health IT industry,” remarked CNSI CEO Todd Stottlemyer.
In her new role, Boughn will leverage over three decades of health public service and technology experience. She is particularly versed in federal and state healthcare programs, as she spent over 10 years with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.
Beginning as chief information officer at CMS, Boughn helped launch and was deputy director for operations at CMS Innovation Center, in addition to serving as deputy director of the center for Medicaid and Children’s Health Insurance Program.
In January, the executive retired from the position of director of the data and systems group of the center for Medicaid and CHIP. In this position, Boughn helped modernize the organizations’ processes such as enrollment systems and information and data activities.
She also holds commercial industry experience at organizations such as Cognosante, where she was chief strategy and innovations officer and the Baltimore, Maryland-based Audacious Inquiry, LLC, where she was champion for transformation. Boughn also has experience in software engineering, systems programming and data analysis.
The newly appointed advisory board member commented that CNSI’s innovative credentials, such as its industry-leading introduction of the Medicaid Management Information System to the cloud, is what drew her to the company.
“I’m delighted to be able to collaborate with such an esteemed panel of members on the CNSI Health Advisory Board to further elevate CNSI’s mission and improve the health and well-being of the citizens who rely on Medicaid and CHIP,” Boughn added.
