Robert Palmer, deputy chief technology officer at the Department of Homeland Security, will resign from his post, effective Oct. 28, Fedscoop reported Monday.
The eight-year federal government veteran told the publication he will move to a new cybersecurity services company – ShorePoint.
Palmer became deputy CTO in April 2016 after he served as acting executive director and head of information assurance for DHS’ enterprise system development office.
He started his federal service career in 2009 at the Transportation Security Administration, where he served as assistant director of information assurance audit and operational support.
His industry career includes security and information assurance roles at several tech companies such as Knowledge Consulting Group, COLSA, SI International, Telos and Cyios.
