The Small Business Administration has unveiled a new map of historically under-utilized business zones as part of an effort to modernize the agency’s federal contracting programs.SBA said June 28 the map is designed to help small businesses determine if they are eligible to participate in the HUBZone program.
The map contains the latest HUBZone designations, qualified disaster areas and new features to boost usability and support HUBZone address assertions.
SBA has collaborated with the U.S. Digital Service to streamline and update online tools for small businesses.
Matt Cutts, USDS acting administrator, said USDS works with SBA to give small businesses access to opportunities through the certify.SBA.gov program.
“Certify” is a web-based platform that currently guides small businesses through the complete application and certification process for the Women-Owned Small Business program, and will soon include other SBA certification programs.
The website also features a tool designed to help small businesses determine their eligibility for SBA contracting programs.
