Federal Chief Information Officer Gregory Touhill has described plans to launch a website that will serve as a repository for users to access cybersecurity guidance and best practices, Federal News Radio reported Tuesday.
Meredith Somers writes Touhill told the AFCEA chapter Cybersecurity Summit Tuesday in Washington that Cyber.gov will roll out over the next two weeks and his staff is setting up basic guidance on the website.
Touhill was assigned to serve as federal CISO in September to lead a team within the Office of Management of Budget that oversees the development and implementation of cybersecurity policies and practices across the federal government.
Touhill added his team will work with federal government entities to make Cyber.gov a “one-stop-shop” for cyber information such as goals, strategies, strategic implementation, best practices and others, Somers reported.
He also aims to form a CISO advisory council comprised government and private sector representatives that will share ideas as volunteers, the report stated.
