CompTIA Signs National Deal to Certify Technology Workers

Jeff Brody

The Computing Technology Industry Association has agreed to certify 625K technology sector workers under a signed pledge with the White House. The organization said Monday that it signed the pledge during a meeting with several administration officials such as Christopher Liddell, who serves as assistant to the president and deputy chief of staff for policy coordination.

“We are honored to sign the Pledge to America’s Workers and appreciate the efforts put forth by the White House to build a stronger workforce,” said Todd Thibodeaux, president and CEO at CompTIA. “With hundreds of thousands of tech job openings sitting unfilled, it’s critical we spread the word the tech industry has jobs for anyone,” Thibodeaux added.

CompTIA’s annual Cyberstates report notes that careers in the technology sector make up 8 percent of the country’s workforce. The U.S. technology industry has welcomed 1.9M new jobs since 2010.
