Both appropriations panels of the House and Senate have approved $4.2 billion in funds for the Department of Veterans Affairs but places some restrictions on spending for the VA’s electronic health record modernization effort, FCW reported Wednesday.Aisha Chowdhry writes the VA is restricted from using 75 percent of VistA EHR update funds until the department demonstrates that its electronic health record is interoperable with that of the Defense Department and private medical institutions.
House appropriators allocated $168 million toward the VistA Evolution program, Chowdhry reports.
