Three lawmakers have asked the chairs of the House Science, Space and Technology Committee and related subpanels to investigate cybersecurity issues under President Donald Trumpâs administration in next weekâs hearing of the House Research and Technology Subcommittee.Reps. Eddie Bernice Johnson (D-Texas), Dan Lipinski (D-Illinois) and Don Beyer (D-Virginia) asked the committee in a letter published Thursday to review the use of a private email server by the administrationâs senior staff, lack of security features on Trumpâs and senior personnelâs social media accounts as well as vulnerabilities in the presidentâs mobile phone.
The letter was addressed to Reps. Lamar Smith (R-Texas), chair of the House Science, Space and Technology Committee; Darin LaHood (R-Illinois), chair of the panelâs oversight subcommittee; and Barbara Comstock (R-Virginia), chair of the committeeâs research and technology subpanel.
